“Verde Galapagos”, the digital magazine of Fundación FIDAL

.

At FIDAL we are committed to education, the environment and innovation; For this reason, on March 30 we presented a new product: the digital magazine "Verde Galapagos", a publication with the purpose of opening a space that promotes the sustainability of the Galapagos Islands and the entire world.

The magazine, which takes the post from the previous Verd 2.0 and is edited in both Spanish and English, has an entertaining approach and, at the same time, is deep, in the varied range of topics that Galapagos contains both in its natural richness and in the human aspect.

During this year, Galapagos acquires a special relief due to the important milestones that it commemorates in its short but interesting history, such as the 60 years of the establishment of the Galapagos National Park, the 60 years of the creation of the Charles Darwin Foundation and, of course Also 60 years after the closure of the penal colony that the Ecuadorian government maintained on one of the islands in the middle of the last century.

Among the articles, written by expert collaborators, we cite a reference to the fortuitous discovery of the islands by Fray Tomás de Berlanga, the evocative account of the famous photographer Tui de Roy about her childhood and subsequent development on the islands, an interesting interview made in 2006 to who was the parish priest of Isabela Island in the days of the penal colony, and an exciting account of his experience in the islands written by an illustrious visitor: the Nobel laureate Louis Ignarro.

We invite the public to visit the link of our magazine: https://issuu.com/verd2.0/docs/verdegal-1
