The great poetry event in Ecuador "Paralelo Cero 2016" opens its doors from this Monday the 14th to Saturday the 19th of March. In this meeting, 10 cities of the country will receive 36 national and international poets.
In addition to Ecuador, the program will feature poets from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Spain, Mexico, Venezuela, the Philippines, Bolivia, Equatorial Guinea and Honduras.
Foundation for the Integration and Development of Latin America (FIDAL) participates as one of the sponsors of the largest international poetry meeting in Ecuador.
This literary meeting promotes a taste for poetry and during these six days readings and recitals will be offered, books will be presented and an international poetic creation contest will be called.
This eighth meeting of "Parallel Zero 2016" is completely free and open to the public, with the idea that more people join in the taste for poetry. The activities will be held in universities, colleges, squares, theaters and cultural auditoriums to give an "unprecedented scope" to Ecuadorian and Ibero-American poetry.
This year, the already prestigious Poet of Two Hemispheres Award will be presented to the Filipino-Spanish singer-songwriter and artist Luis Eduardo Aute, who will present his anthology of poem and songs. The award ceremony and the presentation of the anthology "From a time to this part" will take place on Monday, March 14, at 7:00 p.m. in Quito at the Prometheus Theater of the House of Ecuadorian Culture.
