Earth Hour concerns us all

Quito, March 18, 2016

The Fidal Foundation, concerned about issues related to climate change, supports this motion that seeks to give more life to our planet.

Earth Hour is a WWF campaign that began in 2007 in Sydney, Australia, as a symbolic gesture in the fight against climate change.

Ten years later, it has become the largest environmental mobilization campaign in history. A massive expression of the feelings of millions of people who are calling for the committed involvement of all in the face of climate change, the greatest environmental threat we face.

During 2015, the power of citizens to mobilize was demonstrated, massively taking to the streets of hundreds of cities around the world to demand an ambitious agreement at the Paris Summit. What has been achieved in Paris is encouraging, but it is only the beginning.

Although the transition to a 100% renewable model is unstoppable, the time to act is NOW.
