Great experience with municipal education

On the night of December 1, teachers were awarded prizes, winners of the First Municipal Education Contest, a contest promoted by the Municipal Secretary of the Metropolitan District of Quito and the Fidal Foundation. 870 teachers from 34 educational institutions received calls, 534 participated in training on the development of educational projects, 58 projects applied and 6 achieved educational recognition. The Oswaldo Lombeyda Educational Unit, with the project “I know how to tell and create stories”, won the first prize in the category of pedagogical innovations; the second place went to the project "Linguistic Awareness in the Learning of Reading and Writing in the first year of EGB", of the Quitumbe Municipal Educational Unit. Within the Inclusion category, the jury determined that the first place was for the Calderón and Quitumbe Municipal Educational Units, with the projects "National Identity Encounters" and "Ecological Training, respectively. The project "Music and Cognitive Pedagogical Innovation of Boys, Girls and Young People in Musical Practice", belonging to a group of teachers from the Quitumbe Educational Unit, reached second place. The Fernández Madrid Municipal School and the Calderón Educational Unit, authors of the project "Use of Web Pages in the Teaching of Higher Physical Subjects in the Third Year of High School" were awarded first place in the Communication Technologies category (TIC's ) applied to the teaching-learning process. The projects "Influence of the Rubric on the Quality of the Evaluation in Physical Culture", belonging to the Eugenio Espejo Educational Unit and "Techniques for the capture and storage of rainwater, its purification", of the Antonio José de Sucre Educational Unit , were recognized as interesting ideas to be developed in the future. Among the prizes for the awarded teachers there is a trophy of educational recognition, exchange and observation trips, support for the bibliographic increase of the institutions they represent, training for teachers of the schools and direct participation in the Eighth National Contest and Third International of Educational Excellence. Fundación Fidal applauds the commitment made by the Municipal Education Secretary and the reception of teachers, who, beyond representing an institution, are the image of the educational development of the city.
