FIDAL, at Global Education & Skills Forum 2019
.
Last weekend the Global Education & Skills Forum 2019 was held, an event attended by personalities and institutions that work for the transformation of education. FIDAL was invited by the constant activities it carries out in the educational field both in Ecuador and in the region.
.
Rosalía Arteaga, president of FIDAL; José Brito, Undersecretary of Fundamentals of Education, and Jorge Albuja, winner of the 10th National Contest of Educational Excellence, were participants in this world-class event organized by the Varkey Foundation, in Dubai. With this, FIDAL fulfilled one of the awards to Albuja for having been designated the best teacher in Ecuador in 2018.
“The Forum is a great space to exchange experiences and visions with educators from around the world. Who is changing the world? Many, and education not to grow. Those of us who have the opportunity to be in Dubai must be spokespersons for what has been brewing here for years. Together with Dr. Arteaga we shared the 11th National and 6th Ibero-American Educational Excellence Contest with colleagues who belong to our region ”, mentioned Albuja about the experience.
For three days, from March 22 to 24, the Global Education & Skills Forum 2019 brought together ministers of Education, heads of state, teachers, experts, academics and special guests to discuss the importance of education to solve the main world problems .
In addition, the winner of the Global Teacher Prize 2019 was designated, a contest considered the “Nobel” in education. Peter Tabichi, a science teacher in Kenya, won this award thanks to the work he does as a teacher in a rural area of Nakuru, to which he donates 80% of his salary due to the difficult conditions of his students.
