From November 9 to 11, the National Polytechnic School is the headquarters of the VI Latin American Conference on Dropout in Higher Education (CLABES 2016)

.

The "CLABES" Conferences are international meetings whose main objective is to bring together teachers, education managers, educational authorities and students from Latin American countries to deal with aspects related to the quality of teaching and, in particular, with the abandonment of the studies.

.

Rosalía Arteaga Serrano, former president of Ecuador, former Minister of Education and president of the Advisory Council of Fundación Fidal, the institution from which she directs her work towards educational well-being, gave a conference on the Role of Teachers to participants from 14 countries.

.

The event is configured as a meeting point to analyze the factors associated with dropout, its effects on individuals and society, as well as to define possible initiatives to improve the retention rates of students.
