H. Provincial Council of Azuay honors Rosalía Arteaga Serrano

During the solemn session for the 193 years of creation of the Province of Azuay, the H. Provincial Council of Azuay, will deliver the award "José Peralta" to the former president of Ecuador, Rosalía Arteaga Serrano, leader who has fulfilled a preponderant work for the development of the country.

Being a writer, journalist, doctor of jurisprudence and professor of Ecuadorian and universal literature, Rosalía Arteaga Serrano has demonstrated her vocation of service. His work and time is dedicated to education, culture, democracy, environment and youth. Their efforts have been invested in creating spaces to improve and strengthen the development of the country and the region, Fundación FIDAL is proof of their commitment.

His actions have been writing the history of the country. She was the first woman to hold the position of Vice President and Constitutional President of the Republic of Ecuador, in addition to serving as Vice Minister of Culture and Minister of Education. This Azuayan leader is also recognized for being the first woman who assumed the general secretariat of the Organization of the Amazon International Cooperation Treaty (ACTO). He has also been a member of the Editorial Board of the Encyclopedia Britannica, a member of the Board of Directors of the Centro Agronómico de Investigación y Enseñanza (CATIE), in Costa Rica. She served as a member of the Editorial Board of the Encyclopedia Britannica, also as director of Fundación Natura Regional. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Library of Alexandria, is an Honorary Member of the Royal European Academy of Doctors, a member of the World Academy of Arts and Science and president of the FIDAL Foundation Advisory Council.

The solemn session, in commemoration of the anniversary of the Province of Azuay, will take place on Friday, June 23, at 5:00 p.m., in the House of the Province, with the presence of Paúl Carrasco Carpio, prefect of Azuay and various local authorities and national.
