Rosalía Arteaga Serrano will receive the title of “Citizen of the Amazon” in Brasiliva

The Legislative Assembly of the State of Amazonas will grant Rosalía Arteaga Serrano, president of the Panamazonia and former president of the Republic, the title of “Citizen of the Amazon”, this Thursday, May 10, 2018.

This award will be delivered by Deputy Luiz Castro, in recognition of the relevant services developed in favor of Manaus. For this, Arteaga is in Brazil to be part of the tribute, which will take place at 11:30 am in the auditorium of the Federation of Industries of the State of Amazonas (FIEAM). During his stay in Brazil, he will also meet with representatives of various sectors to share their experiences around his work in Ecuador, leaving the name of the country very high.

He will give a lecture at the seminar "40 years of the anniversary of the signing of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty (TCA): a debate on the future of the Amazon, he will attend the Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Panamazonia; he will participate in the launch seminar of the first edition of the National Award for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of Brazil.

Rosalía Arteaga for several decades has led transformations in the field of education and culture in Ecuador through the Foundation for the Integration and Development of Latin America (FIDAL), an institution where she chairs the Advisory Council; their ideas and actions have also been reflected in other territories, for example, in Brazil.

Aware of the greatest challenges in Latin America, Arteaga emphasized the fight against deforestation in the Amazon. He led the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO), an intergovernmental entity based in Brazil, which seeks to preserve and develop this territory in a responsible and sustainable way.
