Concordia Summit: a space for reflection on economic issues
On September 21, Rosalía Arteaga, FIDAL's executive president and former president of Ecuador, integrated the discussion spaces of the Concordia Summit 2020, a non-partisan platform for world leaders to share their vision on the urgent needs in the midst of the pandemic.
The opening remarks were given by Francis Suarez, Mayor of Miami. Several personalities participated alongside Arteaga, such as the former Colombian Defense Minister Juan Carlos Pinzón; Alicia Bárcena, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean; David Smolanksy, envoy of the OAS General Secretariat for the Venezuelan migration and refugee crisis; Laura Chinchilla, former president of Costa Rica and vice president of the World Leadership Alliance; Richard Mayfield, CEO of Walmart.
Concordia celebrated its tenth year with this virtual event that ended on September 25, with contributions from heads of state, NGO directors, politicians, and influential leaders in politics, business, and social impact.
