Arvelio Garcia Rivas

Cuban, with a degree in History and a primary school teacher. He has a postgraduate degree in International Relations Policy and a master's degree in Society and Social Development. He has dedicated much of his life to literacy in rural areas. Collaborator with UNESCO, as regional adviser in Rural Education for Latin America and as director of several offices at the regional level.
In Ecuador, he coordinated the III, IV and V editions of the National Science, Technology and Innovation Fairs of Ecuador. He is an honorary member of the Guayasamín Cultural Foundation and part of the editorial board of Fundación Fidal's Edu @ News magazine and has participated as a jury in the Educational Excellence Contest for six editions.
