VIII Ibero-American Seminar on Scientific Journalism Construction of citizenship and climate change

Latin America is one of the regions with the highest rates of urban growth. The challenge for city administrators and their authorities is the search for sustainable cities that achieve socio-economic development and incorporate the environmental dimension to their institutional framework that guarantees resources and quality of life for future generations. It seeks to create spaces for dialogue around climate change and the role of different sectors in it. Also generate synergies between local agents and the global environmental agenda. It recognizes that it is essential to identify opportunities for collaboration between local authorities, communicators and scientists in the dissemination of information to citizens on climate change and the environment. On the other hand, it manages to establish a local citizen agenda to mitigate climate change.
