The X Educational Excellence Contest rewards the best national teacher and the best Ibero-American with $ 15,000

This April 25, the Award Ceremony of the X National and V Ibero-American Contest of Educational Excellence will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the Simón Bolívar Pavilion of the Quito Exhibition Center.

For the tenth consecutive year, the Foundation for the Integration and Development of Latin America (FIDAL) will award the best Ecuadorian educational project and, for the fifth time, the best Ibero-American.

The author of the winning national project will receive a prize of $ 10,000 and a trip to Dubai to participate in the World Teacher Award ceremony, and the winning teacher of the Ibero-American contest will be awarded an economic incentive of $ 5,000 and a trip to the event Microsoft Education Exchange next year.

Authorities from the public and private sector will be invited to the award ceremony, including the Minister of Education Fander Falconí, as well as representatives of the Legislature and ambassadors. An influx of 1,000 people is expected.

In addition, at the awards gala, Ernesto Kahan, the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Argentine doctor, poet and writer, and Noelia Garella, will be decorated for their dedicated work to promote peace, education, culture and inclusion. first person with Down syndrome to work as a preschool teacher in Argentina.

Likewise, a recognition will be given for the trajectory and contribution to education to the Ecuadorian poet and journalist Rosa Amelia Alvarado Roca, to Rubén Darío Álvarez and to the lawyer Isabel Robalino.

The Educational Excellence Contest emerged during a conversation between various figures from the education sector and FIDAL collaborators, with the aim of honoring and recognizing the work of teachers and generating a qualitative improvement in education. In the last nine years, 1,707 teachers have participated with 848 projects.
